Svetlana Kuznetsova
Svetlana, who comes from an energetic family, started playing tennis at seven years old. Her dad, Aleksandr Kuznetsov, is a cycling trainer of six Olympic and titleholders, while Svetlana’s mom, Galina Tsareva, is a six-time world winner and holder of twenty world records. Brought into the world in St. Petersburg, Svetlana moved to Spain when she was seven to go to the Sanchez-Casal Academy, known as the place of graduation of tennis stars.
Kuznetsova originally showed she had a can-do attitude in 2007, her best season to date (she completed at No. 2 in those days.) Kuznetsova has shown up in four Grand Slam singles finals, winning two. One thing is sure: Svetlana, who has won a sum of 18 WTA singles and 16 WTA pairs titles, never surrenders; it’s that battling soul that actually makes the 36-year-old player risky.
